"....Everything
I liked was an English band. I mean I enjoyed Kiss and Aerosmith
too but I see my style going much more towards English music
and I don’t know why."
Well that certainly comes across on the record.
“Well that's good. English musicians tend to deal with
Melody a little bit more. Where Americans like a little bit
too much into the music. English people really will write a
song. You guys are much more song orientated, and that’s
what I always enjoy too."
Outside of music what does Gilby do to relax?
"I have a '65 Harley Davidson sometimes I just go for a
ride and hang out at biker bars, and I’ll have a beer,
hang out with the guys......... and nobody says Guns 'n' Roses.
That’s a good day for me!"
Dare we ask, would he ever consider going back to G 'n' R?
"You know what? I don’t know. What I liked about
G 'n' R was I thought it was a great hard rock band. If the
band was like that again, with Slash in the band. I would definitely
consider it. As long as we were going to do something that would
contribute to what the band already did, not just live off the
name. So yes, I would never say no, but at this point I know
that’s not possible."
Does he ever regret joining G 'n' R?
"No it was cool. Hectic but cool!"
