Surely this is an attitude
that affects potential success?
"We've been there, done that. The big success last time
didn't do anything for me personally."
On the topic of the next big thing. Who is to be?
"I can't see it being anything rock based. It's all been
done before. If there was someone doing something cool, I'd
be ripping them off myself!"
Whilst Mike has been listening to the Eels and Daft Punk he
says he's prone to a lot of Drum and Bass now and admits trying
to add a little to the current JJ sound.
"It's quite tricky. It's an exclusive kinda sound. It doesn't
go easily with other styles."
So the album entitled 'Already', given its name by a fan via
the internet, finally gets its UK release. After all the years
in the making, all the hard work, remixing other peoples tunes,
Djing across the country, losing a drummer, writing, it's being
tough, what got you through it all Mike?
"Er…a lot of moutain biking and travelling. It helped
clear my mind."
With all that, it's a wonder that he actually had time spare
to make another record.
