Till today have
there ever been any reasons that gave you thought for leaving
the band and giving it all up?
"No not at all," declares the Wrekked Train. "I
mean the only thing you might get angry about is the amount
of hours you have to keep. You can't really complain 'cause
being in a band is one of the best jobs in the world and you
get a lot of joy from it. The only time you get fed up about
it is when you get really tired. A lot of the time it's brought
on by ourselves staying up too late after a gig or from attending
parties."
"You wouldn't want to give up the band," adds the
Priest. "I mean there are times when it can get a bit mad
from the press and stuff like that. If there's anything you
would want to stop is that sought of thing every now and then.
You know we never want to give up the band, because it's all
we can do and it's what we're best at you know? We think we're
good at what we do, so there's never been a thought of giving
up the music."
The Wrekked Train goes a little deeper explaining the awards
from being in a band. "Making people dance is one of the
greatest feelings in the world and having kids come up to you
afterwards and telling you what it meant to them. There was
one case where a kid came up to me and said that one of our
gigs made his life worth living. When you hear stuff like that
it's brilliant. All you little worries become insignificant
when you're told something like that."
Though friends, constant touring and industry pressures can
affect the band member's relationships with each other to the
point of physical outbursts. Had such a thing happened with
the Lo-Fidelity Allstars?
"We've never had a fight," exclaims the Priest. "The
only disagreements we have are about music and they've never
become aggressive in any way. It would be horrible though if
we all agreed on everything. We agree on what the band sounds
like we only ever row about other people's music really."
The interview concludes with a lighthearted discussion about
the Allstars appearing as a contestant in the Wacky Races cartoon.
While the laughing subsides the two apologise for being tired
and probably not giving a great interview. They're definitely
not the hooligans as recent press may have >> |
