It’s
a sound that has worked well and the album has been graciously
received.
“I’m quite proud of our album,” admits Craig.
“It’s alright and it’s got us playing places
like this.”
And places like Japan. Apparently this year’s invitation
to the Summer Sonic festival will see the band’s third
trip to the country. Apparently their sound is particularly
favourable to Nicky Wire.
“It was quite a compliment when he said he liked us,”
states Craig. “He said it in an interview when he was
slagging of other bands. He didn’t say he loved our
album or anything but he said he really liked our video and
that Borders should have been a hit.”
But apparently that’s not the only thing Nicky has had
to say about the band.
“I was talking to Nicky the other day,” begins
Craig. “He knew more about what label we were on than
I did. I think he knows a lady that worked on our album with
Sony and he’s like “well of course this is happening
now, whatshisname is taking over the company so your going
go into duh duh duh’. ” He pauses to laugh. “We’re
being told what record label we’re on by Nicky Wire.”
