Trouble is if
the Stereophonics are on before it then they'll sleep through
it and miss ours."
Chandrasonic is next "It's really good for people to hear
music like that against others with different traditions to
be alongside The Verve and Radiohead. It means that the music
we're doing is coming up to equal recognition with your normal
rock music."
"The Verve, is that the video with the bloke with terrible
manners on the street, bumping into people?" asks Pandit
G. Chandrasonic nods, "They should have a proper Highway
Code type of thing just for that bloke."
"I think it's quite a good video actually," admits
Chandrasonic.
"What? I think its really stupid and egotistical bollocks."
"When you hear the lyrics, you'll hear what it's about.
It's about a fucking guy fucked up."
"When you watch the video," adds Dr Das. "You've
got to turn on the volume."
The room erupts with laughter.
Master D adds to conversation "It doesn't work like that.
The stuff he's saying is "I'm quite good". "
"Is he?" asks Pandit G. "He's saying "I'm
rude get out of my way." No I think it's rude."
How important is technology to your music?
"With guitars right," starts Dr Das. "If you
don't plug them in you can't hear them, unless they're acoustic,
so technology is important. It's like drums, when they started
to screw the skins in instead of gluing them down, that's technology."
"The good thing is, is that we don't have to listen to
the drummer go," starts Pandit G before imitating the sound
of a drum being beaten.
"We all enjoy programming the drums," adds Chandrasonic.
"And we know that we don't have to pay a drummer £500
a week either," begins Master D. "It's not even that.
We've got total control over the drum beats. We know it's going
to be in time. If we had a drummer from the start then maybe,
but it's not like that." >> |
