Amber

"If you were to use it as an outlet from the real world," she continues. "It gives you a positive escape. That's what I wanted my album to do. There are songs on there that are obviously pop friendly. For the most part the album is very uplifting, very real, very true. It speaks about real happenings. So I wanted the album to be positive and so we figured 'Feel Good Music' is pretty much the mood that we were going for."

With Amber and Markus working so well together, for her own musical developments would she perhaps work with him less in the future?

"I think it's hard to say less. As an artist you have to be open minded about working with different people. He has always encouraged me to do that even when I was in the States. I was signed to two different companies, working with different producers and everything. He is very encouraging when it comes to that. But it's a matter of really knowing what's good and what you want and if you can get that with somebody else. Then yeah I'm all for that but the working chemistry that we have when it comes to the music, you know, they say, 'Why fix something when it's not broke?' But as an artist when you talk about growing and evolving into a bigger and stronger artist then I'm definitely up for it."

It has already been critiqued that "the album sends a message of Filipino pride but mixes it with R&B and hip-hop beats". It makes a fresh change in the Filipino industry that is predominantly pop ballad orientated. Though what does Amber think she can offer that is different to everyone else?

Amber doesn't answer the question directly. Presumably either to guard her plan or it's out of politeness. It's more than likely the latter as she's already been quoted as saying that she's not out to compete and only do her thing. Instead she talks about a misuse of talent in the Filipino music industry. I slip in the name of the covers band Make Your Mamma Proud, who did a splendid cover of Kylie and Jason's 'Especially For You', to get a rise. It proves unsuccessful though I do get a cheeky laugh. >>
