The Hedrons

"We were well motivated as this is what we wanted to do," begins Chi. "We knew we had a limited time and we could have had more if we wanted but we really just wanted to catch the moment."

"We basically made sure we knew the songs inside out before we went in there," adds Soup.

"We are a hard working band, gigging three or four times a week before we went in to make sure we were happy with what we were doing," states Chi. "There would have been nothing worse if we just went into the studio and we hadn't been comfortable with what we were doing. We would have felt that it would have been a waste of time."

All the songs were practically written before they went into the studio. The girls seem proud that, whilst former solo artist Tippi concentrated more on the lyrics, there is unity amongst the ranks with a team effort made on the song writing.

"I think having an equal input defines our sound," starts Chi. "We've all got different tastes in music and by having our own wee say in it, we get to bring in something different to it and we're all fighting over where we want the songs to go."

"Aye," agrees Soup. "Everyone has an equal input for that, the writing is really a thing from us all. Our own strange influences, loads of different things in music, it's just a big melting pot of ideas really."

From this melting pot would it be possible for the girls to describe how the album sounds? >>
