Progression is an intention for all bands. The vocalist issue
aside, Jay admits that there is a challenge to write songs
with seven members. More of a challenge was writing an album
sung in English. All tracks on the new album 'Episode 3',
bar one were sung in English. It's almost a full circle in
music direction where Western music has influenced the East
and now vice versa.
As could be expected there would probably be too many influences
to list, though some were apparently playing at Hyde Park.
Unfortunately the band weren't aware of the special ticket
allocation for the event.
"The boys really wanted to go when they found out the
gig was on," says Sharon, "they were really disappointed
not to be able to get in."
While the problems in Africa are far away from England and
The Philippines, The Philippines does have it's own economic
problems. In 2004 the World Bank's development indicators,
placed the United Kingdom 7th highest out of 141 countries
for gross national income per capita. Twelve weren't ranked
whilst Ethopia was 141. The Philippines stood 81st.
"Last year we endorsed Senator Raul Rocco in the general
election," begins Sharon. "Unfortunately he lost.
He was really for education and we were also for it. So after
the general election we wanted to do something to continue
his education goal so we tied up with STI Education Group
to launch the South Border Scholarship program, where they
can pay the tuition fees or college fees of kids who can't
afford them."
Recording and producing the album took a long time.
"It took about a year," begins Jay, "most of
the songs were finished after three or four months. We didn't
rush the album even though they (the record label) gave us
a deadline to finish the album by March this year, but it
was out by June." >>
