Not the name of the band, but the name of a debut single,
it had to be a close call but nevertheless what does it all
mean? Why the word as plural?
"There was no reason why it was called bullets was there?"
asks Chris of Tom.
"As with all our lyrics it's pretty ambiguous, generally
the theme is 'if something has got to change, then it always
does', its kind of optimistic lyrically," begins Tom.
"I like to think that it's not just lyrically set, in
a setting of a sad sounding song."
So what is the band's song writing process?
"I'll write the lyrics," declares Tom. "I'll
sit in my room and it comes up and there will be different
themes. I don't tell stories but I'll write about life experiences
or whatever."
"After the acoustic song goes onto Minidisc, we all sort
of get it and we'll have our own ideas and the usually we'll
meet up somewhere, a bedroom somewhere," adds Chris.
A bedroom, though not necessarily yours but someone elses?
"People often come back and find us bordering outside
their bedroom," laughs Tom.
"Yeah," laughs Chris, "Sorry would you give
us five minutes because we're going to write a hit."
Though jokes aside.
"We try to write something together basically to make
it sound like an Editors song," states Tom. >>
