"We're not scared to be influenced by stuff that is going on around us either," states Chris. "Maybe Tom had us an influence us."

"A lot of our influences are contemporary, Elbow, Doves, Walkman as well as the kind of stuff that people say we like now, a lot of the eighties things. We've discovered those records now," admits Tom.

Those records may have been found as a form of escapism from their own University days. Word has it they weren't so keen on their course.

"It was a technology course, with a lot of technology students, we never really fitted in from the start to be honest. There were no girls," begins Tom. "Staffordshire has no original features, there's nothing of any soul in any way, there's no little town or a kind of attraction."

"You know sometimes if a town is like really boring," states Chris. "They're probably beautiful, with some redeeming feature, they'll be nice in a way, quaint, kind of charming."

Woah, hold it there cowboy, you're making Milton Keynes sound like some sort of kingdom.

"I can't wait to go to Milton Keynes," says Chris with a touch of sarcasm. "Everyone is talking about it."

"We spent three years of our lives in Staffordshire so we thought we'd try Milton Keynes," laughs Tom.

"Why not, we're trying to find the worst places to go. We actually have a league table of worse places in the country, since we started the first tour….yeah well I'm not going to go into it," laughs Chris. >>
