Kasabian

Some people have already labelled the sound to baggy?

"Yeah I don't know why? There's probably some baggy bass lines and stuff. Apart from that it's like electro-hip hop-rock."

It might be due to 'LSF', that it has slight similarities to traits of The Happy Mondays. Someone said to me if you squint while you listen to it you can almost get a Bez from that. You can see why with the hook but what does LSF actually mean?

"It's just a file name really. It used to be 'GSF' and we sent it down to the record company and the G' looked like an 'L'. They called it 'LSF' and it kind of stuck. That name though might change for the album."

The fact that the band sound a lot different to what else is around at the moment is a key strength. You've mentioned already that you have a vast musical influence, though specifically can you recall what albums you were listening to when you recorded your own?

"Again, just everything really. You go to the barn and look at what records
we've got. It's like a record shop."

Is that a result of your upbringing, you're open minded to all sorts of music?

"Basically I like what I like, I don't like a certain genre of music."

Some times your influences are drawn from what your parents have been listening to while they brought you up, would you agree?

"Yes. My family is all-musical. They all play instruments but they never really listened to a lot of music. I was into music at around eleven, buying records and listening to music. That's what I liked at the time." >>
