"Wayne Hemmingway kept talking about us on the Big Breakfast
for about a year. I heard about it from my girlfriend's dad
he was like, "Oh they mentioned you again". We asked
our management to get in touch with him and ask if he would
give some clothes to us for free and he said, "Yeah but
you've got to do a show"."
When Tiny lifted up his jumper he revealed the word 'unique'
was it his idea to lift it up?
"Yeah. In the morning I told Wayne I was going to do
it and he was cool about it. Then Andy came up with this idea
and asked Wayne if he could strip. He was cool about it but
he didn't tell anyone else who worked for him. So of course
when it happened they were taring their hair out, shouting
"Don't go out there again"," he says laughing.
Did he get to keep the jumper?
"They all went back, you had to request for the items
we wore. I should get it but they gave me a £100 voucher
for the shop where I could buy it."
So did he think that people actually got the point? I mean
it was in all the national press.
"I don't know. Patrick Duffy did at the same show a couple
of years back. He lifted his shirt and had the word 'freak'
written on him. It was done as a comment about that really.
I imagine that people that read the Independent didn't know
that he did that. It has gone further though."
Tiny has mentioned in previous interviews that he regards
the band more as a musical community rather than a band itself.
What's the actually meaning there? >>
