"We did a gig a couple of nights ago in Essex. There's
a big hall and that and was full. I'm not trying to be ageist
here but there were a lot of people over thirty in the audience.
They just stood there watching. I've been in that situation
so many times that you get a room watching you and you're
going "fucking hell we're going down like a led balloon
here". Then after the gig they come up to you and say
stuff like, "You were amazing, that's the best gig I've
ever been to". But why don't they show it? It's quite
odd because I'm sort of the same. I quite understand it because
I see a lot of bands that I don't applaud. If I went to see
the Smashing Pumpkins I wouldn't bother clapping because everybody
else is doing it anyway."
Are there any Tiny tips for the top? What's his favourite
album at the moment?
"Cornelius I think should do really well and I would
love to get him to remix some of our stuff actually. I love
to listen to Cat Power and Sleater Kinney they promise an
awful lot but have yet to achieve it. About a year ago I did
my top five singles for the Gay Times and I put Sleater Kinney's
'One Hour' in there. Next thing I know I get a package through
the letterbox from Matador of all their releases."
