The Ordinary Boys

At this point William, the bands other guitarist and tunesmith, enters the bar and introduces himself while Preston continues.

"It's good to be where we are but I feel we are a couple of rungs up the ladder. I don't feel that we have arrived anywhere. One of the good things about our band is that I don't think that we will ever feel that we have arrived. We are constantly trying to improve ourselves and all that shit."

Do you think a part of that is because you've done so much in so little time? You've played a lot of festivals. William interjects.

"You never get a chance to think about it. It all comes at you really quickly so you've done it before you've had a chance to think about it and you forget it as you move onto something else."

"We're not the sort of band to take any time off," begins Preston. "Maybe when we're three of four albums down the line we'll take a few of months off. As long as we haven't got writer's block or that sort of thing. We are the sort of band to keep doing it, quickly and as prolifically as we can."

Is that why you've been bouncing on and off tours?

"Yeah we try to cram them in," admits Preston. "I think it's important because
I think a lot of bands don't really give people enough. You know they create the impression that people should be lucky to see the band. We feel really lucky that people have so much fun at our gigs. We want to keep giving them stuff. Keep giving them songs. Keep giving them gigs so that they constantly have something new to have with the band."
