The Ordinary Boys

William turns to Preston. "You better have some children soon, if you want grandchildren when you're fifty."

"Yeah I should," he replies.

It all goes surprisingly quiet but it's only a matter of seconds before the
silence is broken by laughter. Both band members appear to have other thoughts on their mind other than children. They both turn to the interviewer.

The songs on the album, have you had them long? Have you travelled with them long?

"Some we have, some we haven't. Nothing is over two years old," states Preston.

"Some of the songs were written in the studio," adds William.

Was that purposely because you though right 'We have got an album to
record let's write some new songs'?

"We had probably ten songs that we went in with that we thought would be on the album. Then we sort of scrapped two or three because we were not happy with them. We wanted to make every song really outstanding. Producing with Steven Street made the making of the album so much easier. With a lot of the guitar solos on the album, I would have just done them whilst playing to the drum track but Steve would say the solos sounded great. He would just keep them like that. Which was really cool and interesting but a couple of times I was like 'No way it cannot be kept because it was out of tune.'"

"If a song is out of tune," adds Preston "And you don't notice it, it does add
to the song a little bit." >>
