The partnership with Steve on the album obviously worked
really well and the band are keen to take the partnership
into the next album as Preston explains.
"Yeah, definitely, I'd like Elvis Costello to do an album
but I couldn't imagine doing the second album with someone
different. It would be a definite mistake because he likes
all the same music as us. He really understands where we
are coming from. He appreciates my lyrics and everything so
I think he is perfect for us. I think it is rare to find your
perfect producer on your first album so we are just lucky.
For the second album it is really important that we make the
songs write themselves. Rather than thinking too deeply about
it, analysing where we should take the second album and all
that shit. We should go into
the studio, have a laugh and see what comes out the other
side."
Are you anxious to write new material?
"Desperately," he continues.
"It's a little frustrating now," begins William.
"Because the tour is still going on and we've got to
go to Ireland and Japan before we can get back and do some
recording."
Preston continues. "It's even hard to write at the moment.
We're either always walking around or people are walking in.
It makes it a little difficult to write but I've written about
four songs for the next album. So we're going to see what
else happens. See what else we have by the time we go into
the studio and
how many we can record then."
Was the latest single 'Seaside' always going to be a single?
Preston provides some detail into the band's fourth single
